I am experienced in creating and leading workshops in Creative Writing and in songwriting. My workshops are always aimed at helping others build confidence, try new things, and eventually, feel brave enough to share their ideas.

I am an Associate Artist at The Sainsbury Centre Art Gallery and Museum in Norwich and an Associate Artist at Norwich Arts Centre. I am also a lecturer in Creative Arts at Norwich City College.

Past projects:

2022 / 23 saw the launch of the Safe Space Creative Writing Group - for LGBTQ+ young people between 14 and 18 (or therabouts) meeting on Sunday afternoons in the Cafe/Bar area of Norwich Arts Centre, who were our kind supporters - along with the National Centre for Writing and Young Norfolk Arts. For those who couldnt attend in person - or for anyone really, sessions are recapped in a Podcast hosted by Young Norfolk. The Podcasts are free and represent a six part beginners Creative Writing course, each with a specially written ‘audio letter’ from a leading queer artist. We were delighted to feature: poet Andrew McMillan, poet and playwright James McDermott, multi-genre writer Molly Naylor, folk musicians, Maddie Morris, Belina O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow, Danni Nicholls, and drag artist and creative Liv.

For The National Centre for Writing, I have devised a number of writing workshops for delivery in primary schools, in person and online, for school-aged children and young adults. My work also takes me to secondary schools in Norfolk and Suffolk, working with individuals and small groups on writing and music projects.

As part of First Light Festival’s community outreach programme, I had the privilege of working, over a number of weeks, with young people in the Lowestoft area to come up with a raft of new original songs, written completely from scratch!

I have been employed for 1:1 work alongside Neurodiverse young people (via Wired Sounds), with LGBTQ+ young people in the East of England. On a voluntary basis, I have worked with YMCA residents helping to support and encourage a wide remit of artistic work from stories and non-fiction, poetry, songs to zine making.

I have worked recently with Play, Produce, Promote / Freshly Greated in Great Yarmouth, and with talented young songwriters through 1:1 sessions at Diss High School.
